Camp Washington

Camp Washington, located just six miles from downtown Cincinnati, holds historical significance as the site of muster and drill grounds for the 1st and 2nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry regiments during the Civil War. It also hosted the very first Ohio State Fair, adding to its rich heritage.

Today, Camp Washington is a thriving manufacturing hub, home to over 150 businesses, including notable names like Hillshire Farm & Kahn’s Company, Andrew Jergens Company (now KAO Brands), Queen City Sausage, Meyer Tool, and Osborne Coinage. Despite its industrial character, the community is home to 1,763 residents who appreciate its affordable living options.

The neighborhood features a mix of 19th-century homes, many of which have been thoughtfully rehabbed and updated, blending residential charm with industrial spaces. Its strong sense of community is supported by several active organizations. The Camp Washington Community Board focuses on preserving and rehabbing homes, while the Camp Washington Community Council serves as a platform for residents to share ideas. Additionally, the Camp Washington Business Association facilitates networking among local businesses and advocates for the area’s continued growth and vibrancy.
