Two Cincinnati school districts among best in nation for home values

Two Greater Cincinnati school districts are the best places in the nation to live for top home values and buyer demand, according to a new ranking.

Realtor.com compared homes located in school districts rated 9 or 10 by GreatSchools.org to those in districts rated six or less to find that homes in higher rated districts are on average 49 percent more expensive than the national median of $269,000 and 77 percent more expensive than schools in the boundaries of lower ranked districts.

Greater Cincinnatis Indian Hill Exempted Village School District was No. 4 and Mariemont City School District was No. 10 on the list of school districts with the highest home price premium versus their county, which in both cases is Hamilton County.

The home price premium in Indian Hill was 600 percent, while the premium in Mariemonts district lines was 468 percent. To compare, Cincinnati Public Schools homes had an 89 percent premium versus the rest of Hamilton County and Forest Hills School District homes had a premium of 145 percent.
