New shops seem to be opening up every month in Madisonville. Here is the newest coffee shop to open it’s doors in this quaint neighborhood tucked in between Mariemont and Oakley. It’s not a big surprise that retail is on the rise in this neighborhood. It is conveniently located; whether you live here or travel through on the way to work, it is an area that many Cincinnatians find themselves everyday.

A new coffee shop and bakery is now open in Madisonville.
Mad Llama Coffee Shop and Bakery opened at 5001 Kenwood Road on July 29. The coffee shop was founded by Jeff Gardocki and Andrew Jeavons.
“Madisonville has a special significance for my family as one of my ancestors, Joseph Ward, was the first settler of Madisonville in 1799,” Gardocki said in a news release.
Mad Llama specializes in locally roasted coffee beverages, soft serve ice cream, pastries and snacks. The Mad Llama also bakes its own bagels, muffins and other pastries. Its menu also includes some prepared food, such as breakfast sandwiches.
The Mad Llama is currently walk-in only but has applied for a drive-thru permit.
