Big News for Hamilton County Homeowners!
In November 2024, the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners approved a 30% property tax rebate for homeowners, applicable to the 2024 tax year and payable in 2025. This rebate stems from a 1996 agreement tied to the sales tax increase that funded new stadiums, but due to budget constraints, the full rebate hasn’t been consistently provided since 2011. This marks only the fourth time the full 30% has been granted—previously in 2012, 2017, and 2022.
What does this mean for homeowners?
An estimated savings of $106.97 per $100K of assessed property value! The final amount will be determined at year’s end.
Why now?
Many residents faced significant property tax hikes after the 2023 reassessment, which saw home values jump by 28% on average and property taxes by 10.4%.
