This cutie is turning 1!

This cutie patootie is turning 1 tomorrow and it is suppose to be quite lovely outside. If you are not out house hunting and are looking to shake off your cabin fever, head over to the zoo and celebrate with Ms. Fiona!

We’ve given each other Fiona gifts all year.

T-shirts. Beer. Cookies. Calendars. Playing cards. Heck, we even wrapped those gifts in Fiona-themed paper.

But now it’s time for us to throw a party for the hippo herself.

January 24 marks the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden star’s first birthday. And her hometown is throwing this global sensation a few parties to celebrate.

The zoo will mark this milestone for the hippo born six weeks early from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. It’s all included with zoo admission, by the way.

Here’s a look at the goodies and activities:

First 2,000 families get a hippo bath maths
Watch other animals get enrichment with Fiona goody bags
Get a Fiona postcard stamped with her footprint
Sign Fiona’s birthday card at Hippo Cove
Busken cake and cookies from 1-3 p.m.
Graeter’s ice cream from 1-3 p.m.
Hippo care team members Q&A from 1- 1:30 p.m. and 2-2:30 p.m.
Hippo-themed activities in education center from noon-3 p.m.
Cincy Shirts will give away Fiona temporary tattoos from 12:30-3 p.m.
Specialists from Cincinnati Children’s who helped save Fiona will be here from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Authors of Fiona books will be available to sign books from 11 a.m. ”“ 1 p.m. at the zoo’s Gift Shop

So will the guest of honor appear? It has to be 50 degrees or above for Fiona to go out on exhibit.

As of Friday afternoon, there is a slight chance of a birthday hippo sighting. The forecast is partly sunny, with a high near 45.

Rookwood Pottery, which produced a Fiona ornament, will also host a bash after her birthday at the 1920 Race St. location.

The event from 10 a.m.-2 pm. Jan. 27 will feature a new product release, as well as a signing with Rookwood Fiona artist Mary Guanciale.
